Winter has hit and it is cold outside. I must admit I’m getting older, creakier and my skin feels like it is drying up at times. You have heard me say before that skin is the largest organ of the body and what goes on it goes in it. During these cold winter months we need to pay particular attention to our skin. A couple of things can make a huge difference – the first is hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. It is important to drink water or non-caffeinated tea during this time. This is going to help our skin from the inside out.
The next step is to go from the outside in. One of my favorite ways to do this is using “Soothing Salve.” I have taken five herbs with healing properties, Lavender, Chamomile, Calendula, Lemon Balm and Comfrey and soaked them in an organic avocado oil. Once I have their properties infused into the oil I get rid of the herbs and turn the oil into a beautiful soothing salve! I use the salve on my face, hands and heels every morning. Because of the properties in the herbs this is also the first salve I reach for if someone is hurt.
Take care of yourself and in the near future I will go more in depth about the properties of the herbs or visit our website - www.TheWrightEssence.com any time for more information!

There was nothing like using my Lively Lime lotion this morning to chase away the winter blues! What a great pick-me-up first thing in the morning, made me believe spring really is just around the corner!
